Membership to the Association

All the insurance and reinsurance companies operating in Turkey are under obligation of becoming members of the Association within three months from the date of obtaining their licenses. They are also obliged to implement the decision taken by the authorised organs of the Association. Membership to the Association is fulfilled after a written application and payment of a fee in time.

Representation of the Companies

Companies are represented in the Association by their General Managers or in the absence of them, by their assistant general managers and/or by a representative having an authorisation for representation.

Cancellation of Membership

A company's membership to the Association is ends up under the following conditions;

  • if a member's licence of operation is cancelled,

  • if a court decision is given for a member's bankruptcy,

  • if a member's insurance operation is halted due to any other reason.

Conformity to Association's Decisions

Members are obliged to obey and implement decisions of the authorised organs of the Association. This obligation starts from the date of written notification to the member company or in the date mentioned in the Association's decision.

Principal Organs of the Association

The principle organs of the Association are the followings;

  • General Assembly,

  • Chairman of the Board of Directors,

  • Board of Directors,

  • Board of Discipline,

  • Board of Auditors.
